The game this year is a thrilling, robotic version of soccer: Breakaway. The game is played on a carpeted field divided into three sections, with a steep but scalable hump and a small tunnel separating each section. Each team is composed of three robots, and each robot starts in one of the sections with several soccer balls. The objective of the game is to score goals by shooting the soccer balls into holes on the ends of the fields. In order to score, robots must maneuver past opposing defensive robots and shoot accurately and with the right amount of power.
The game begins with an autonomous period, where programmed robots attempt to shoot from all sections of the field. Once the teleoperated period begins, robots begin scoring, defending, and controlling balls. When a goal is scored, a human player sends the soccer ball back to the middle of the field, where robots compete for possession. At the end of each match, robots can score extra points by either climbing onto one of the towers, hanging onto one of the towers, or hanging onto another robot.

Buy chain-links from our team members to support Team 102!
We are conducting a "Links to Atlanta" fundraiser. All the members of the team are selling orange chain-links for $1 each. When you buy one, you get your name on the chain-link. Our goal is to get enough chains to make a link around the school.
